Kentucky Hunter Education Range Day
Overview
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources' Hunter Education regulation requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1975 and age 12 or older to have a hunter education course completion card in their possession while hunting, as well as the appropriate Kentucky hunting license. For more information about this requirement, click hereImportant Participants must be at least nine years of age to take the hunter education course.
Following Governor Andy Beshear’s executive order to close in-person services as a way to help protect Kentuckians and state employees from COVID-19, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife has temporarily canceled its group hunter education courses, including live fire range days.
To accommodate those who still need their hunter education certificate before hunting in Kentucky, the department has made it possible to earn the Hunter Education certification by taking the “classroom” portion online here, and submitting a video of the “range” portion.
